My LA-2A Is CompleteI finished building an LA-2A a week or two go, and it's an absolutely amazing compressor. I love it bass and vocals !!! Smooth, big, round, clear... you name it. It took me a good 6 weeks to build (in my spare time), and was tedious as there's no circuit board.

Gyraf Audio G9 Tube Preamp
Today I received the latest addition to my slutty gear collection... it's a Gyraf Audio G9 Tube Preamp w/ High Pass Filter. It's an all tube design, with nothing but transformers, tubes, and passive components in the audio path. The power supply uses some semiconductors, but that's fine by me. This is the first piece of gear added to my collection in quite some time that I didn't actually build. It was built by a friend in the "The Lab" at the Prodigy Professional Forum. I'll be testing it out tonight...

In other gear news, I completed a point-to-point LA-2A with Sowter transformers. It's definitely my most complicated build to date, and it sounds fantastic. I still have to get it calibrated and get some pictures posted.
