No More Negotiating

I am definitely buying the house at 7802 Sycamore. The inspections proved a couple problems, but the seller and I have come to an agreement. I found out yesterday as I was in the middle of helping Eric M. build a loft in his house, and I signed the response papers today. I'm uber excited and can't wait to move in. The Act of Sale is scheduled for May 18. Let the waiting begin...

Bloody Pipes!

I started my home inspections today. The guys who came to video the pipes/plumbing that connect to the city quickly found issues. The big problem is that the main underground pipe to the city is broken, and it's buried about 4 feet. They marked where the break is, and luckily it's not under the house... but this is a problem that has to be fixed before I can buy the house. Also, where the kitchen and bathroom tie into this pipe is also broken... in half. So basically all the water draining from the sink and toilet goes straight into the ground... yum yum yum.

Here's another funny one... the flue on the gas furnace isn't entirely connected to the exhaust, so combustion gas leaks into the house when the heater is on. Nice one, yea!

Let's see, what else... the chimney flashing is shit so water drips into the attic when it rains.

The negotiations will continue... I still really want this house I hope we can work something out.
